"Monologue-Dialogue", Hospital de Santiago (06.11.08 - 14.12.08), Cuenca, Spain (www.ingrafica.org)
INGRÁFICA International Contemporary Art Print Festival of the City of Cuenca is a private initiative promoted by the Cuenca City Council and supported by the City Consortium. The aim of creating INGRÁFICA is to establish it as an important, non-commercial event for the world of graphic and serialized art in Spain.
“Monologue – Dialogue” follows a self referential experimental path. Ciprian Ciuclea investigates the contemporary problems of inter-human relations, the more and more reduced transition from dialogue to monologue. The printmaker doesn’t become intricate. He identifies a problem in the contemporary reality, he relates it to himself as the most direct authentication stand, keeping the subjective dose, and materializes it through simple means. The materials fulfill the criteria of transparence, of levity often close to volatile and of formal precision. The object, usually ready-made, is reconfigured through subtle additions and stratifications. Light plays and important role in Ciprian Ciuclea’s installations. Artificial and/or natural, light is the necessary instrument in completing and marking the monologue-dialogue relation, a more and more fragile relation announcing the dependence on dialogue within the system of ideas and in the process of self-definition stuck in the autistic monologue.
